D92 Technology Standards and Skills

As part of ongoing efforts in the area of technology, District 92 convened a team last year consisting of Library Media Center (LMC) specialists Mary Creek, Lynn Jankowski , Amy Rusick, and Emily Wedewer, and as well as Oak Prairie teacher Heidi Kunselman.  Along with Director of Technology Greg Bolek, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Mark Fleming and Superintendent Dr. Peter Sullivan, this team discussed what students should know and be able to do from kindergarten to sixth grade in the area of technology.  The result is a unique document that outlines the skills students should be expected to master in each grade level.  In doing research for this project, very few districts have charted such a sequence for technology learning. District 92 Technology Standards and Skills may be accessed by clicking here or found under Important Links on the district web site.

Proof of Residency Process

In an effort to ensure that we are serving our community, the district is requiring all families to provide proof of residency this summer. Parents and guardians may provide proof of residency on either July 31st or August 1st at Reed School during the following hours:

Monday, July 31                                Tuesday, August 1
                              9:00 am - 6:30 pm                               7:00 am - 2:00 pm

Families who are unable to attend the sessions on either of the two scheduled days must call the office of any one of the schools to schedule an appointment to prove residency. Families with students entering kindergarten who participated in the residency verification process at Walsh this spring are exempt from the summer process. The Proof of Residency Form and Third Party Affidavit are available under Registration Forms on the district web page.

2017-2018 Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration for Will County School District #92 (Walsh, Reed, Ludwig and Oak Prairie) is underway!  Please call Walsh School at 815-838-7858 to check summer hours and registration times.

The items you must furnish at the time of registration are your child’s government issued birth certificate (no other birth certificate will be accepted) and three (3) proofs of residency.  The following will be accepted as proof:  One from this category:  The most current real estate tax bill, signed lease, closing statement for the purchase of a home, or an affidavit (provided by the District) indicating shared housing and that the child lives in the home.  Two from this category:  Driver’s license, gas or electric bill, public aid card, voter registration card, home/apartment insurance certification, bank/credit card statement, or automobile registration.  Registration forms may be printed from this website (see Registration Forms under Important Links to the right of this article), filled out and presented,  along with the above residency documents, during regular office hours at Walsh School.

There is a registration fee of $130, or payment arrangements can be made through the District office.

In order for your child to be admitted to kindergarten, a dental, eye, and physical examination with current immunization information is also required.  Forms will be distributed at registration or you may pick one up in the office prior to the registration dates.  You must turn in all medical forms by the first day of school, or contact the nurse with an explanation.

No student will be officially registered unless a birth certificate and all necessary residency information is complete.  All medical forms are needed by the first day of school, but NOT needed in order to register.  Walsh School hosts a full day kindergarten program which runs from 8:50a.m.-3:30p.m.  Please contact Walsh School or the District office should you have any further questions regarding registration.
