Spikes' Super Student Reading Program 2018

The baseball reading program ended with a school record breaking total!  Our students (most under 7 years old) started reading 4 weeks ago and have met all their goals.  First, they read 1,000 books to earn a free baseball ticket to the Joliet Slammers.  Then they read 500 more to earn a book for their classroom.  They reached 2,000 books and earned a very fun (and loud!) school kick ball assembly.  The staff "Shananigans" team came close, but the student team "Green, Mean, Reading Machine" pulled off the win!  All were proud of our students, as they reached their final goal during the 3rd week...but they wanted to read more!!  They read 1,420 more books!!  The total amount read: 3,420  This is a school record...can't wait to see how many they read next year!!!
