November 2018 Highlights

November is going to be a fast moving month!  Hang on tight...our 1st graders will perform in their musical concert on Wednesday, November 14th.  Check out the music article in the November newsletter to find out what time your class will be performing.   There will also be parent/teacher conferences on Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 19th and 20th).  Check out the calendar to see more important information.

If you have not signed up for your conference, please do so promptly.  If you have any problems, please call the school office.

A special thank you to all our staff, parents, students and friends who made October fun and exciting by attending our Monster Mash and Halloween parade.  This month we also thank and recognize all our volunteers who step forward to help not only our students, but our teachers by planning, copying and volunteering in so many helpful ways!  We are truly blessed at Walsh to have so many great families.   Thank you.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

October 2018 News

Thank you, thank you to all our grandparents and 'grandfriends' who were able to stop by and support our students during our book fair or took the time to have lunch with them.  The event was a huge success!  In October, we have a few more special events planned.  Take a look at our newsletter, or the calendar, to see where and when you can join in the fun :)

Starting October 22nd, we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week.  This is a special week where the whole school participates in activities that teach us how to stay healthy and substance free. Stay tuned for more details coming home in your child's backpack.

Grandparents Day/Book Fair

Invitations have gone home with students for our Grandparents/Grandfriends Lunch and Book Fair.  Teachers are scheduled for one specific day.  Lunch is at 11:35-12:00, followed by a visit to the book fair and recess.  Regular lunch is served, guests will need to bring their own lunch.  The schedule is as follows:

Welcome to Walsh 2018

Welcome back to school!  We are excited to have our new kindergarten students starting with us, as well as our new preschool students this year!  We anticipate a great year filled with fun as we start our educational journey in District 92.  As we enter into our second week of school, we hope your children are becoming more familiar with their routine and surroundings.  If you should have any concerns, please contact your teacher or the school principal, Mrs. Martin.

Please note that the September Walsh Newsletter can be found under the Walsh tab.  Just click on newsletters and choose the September issue.  It will have some highlights from our teachers as well as a listing of special dates that are coming up this month.  This newsletter will also be sent to you through your email, so if you are not receiving it, contact the school office to make sure they have the correct address on file.

There have been several papers sent home and we appreciate the quick return of those papers that need to come back to the office.  If you haven't turned in your Handbook/Photo Release Form (bright pink) or your Technology Use form, please do so.  We would like both forms returned no later than September 7th.

We look forward to sharing this year with you and your child!
