District 92 Welcomes Mrs. Catherine Slee

ReedPrincipalWe are happy to share that the Will County School District 92 Board of Education recently approval Mrs. Catherine Slee as Principal of Reed School effective July 1, 2017. Mrs. Slee will be replacing Mrs. Mary Jasinski who is retiring at the conclusion of this school year after many years of service to District 92. Mrs. Slee emerged from a large pool of applicants as a student-centered leader who will work with faculty, staff, parents and community members to build upon the many successes of Reed. Mrs. Slee is currently the Principal of Oakwood Elementary School in Lemont which serves elementary students through second grade. Prior to Oakwood, she served as a principal in Homer 33C and Lyons School District 103. Ms. Slee has earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and a Masters in Educational Administration from Governors State University. Through the interview process, her curricular knowledge, passion for students and learning, commitment to school improvement, compassion, and investment in ongoing professional growth surfaced as strengths which she would bring to Reed and District 92. We welcome Mrs. Slee to our community!

Child Lures Presentation

Will County School District 92 has implemented a sexual abuse awareness program as required by Illinois State Law (105 ILCS110/3). Students attending Reed School will be presented this material using Safe and Unsafe Touch presented by Guardian Angel Community Services beginning March 8 during the 2016-17 school year.
Parents with children attending Reed School are strongly encouraged to have their children participate. However, by law we are required to allow parents to choose to “opt out” of these presentations. By signing this form you acknowledge and verify that this program was offered and you would like your child NOT to participate.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mrs. Jasinski, Principal, or Mrs. Dealey, School Social Worker at (708) 301-0692.

Will County School District 92 Mission, Core Values and Goals

As the culmination of a planning process that began in August of 2016, the Board of Education adopted Will County School District 92 Goals at its January of 2017 meeting. These goals will become the foundation of district and school improvement efforts in the coming years. The goals are a product of work by a committee made up of representatives of the Board, community, faculty, staff and administration that began their efforts this summer. During these sessions, which were facilitated by representatives of the Illinois Association of School Boards, the committee discussed the mission and core values of the district in anticipation of setting goals for the future. At previous meetings, the District 92 Board of Education took action to affirm its Mission Statement and adopted core goals and beliefs. In the coming months and years, we look forward to sharing with you the progress of the district toward these goals that are aimed at supporting the mission of Will County School District 92. We are proud that District 92 remains a community partnership dedicated to children.
