District 92 Building Committee Earns Statewide Recognition

Will County School District 92 is pleased to announce that the Building Committee has received an Award of Merit in the Illinois State Board of Education’s Those Who Excel Program. The Those Who Excel Program annually honors individuals and teams which have made significant contributions to the state's public and nonpublic elementary and secondary schools. This committee is one of approximately 235 individuals or teams from across Illinois that will be recognized in Bloomington on October 28th. The Building Committee is one of only three individuals or teams which will be honored from Will County. This is the first Those Who Excel Award that has been received for a team or individual representing District 92.

Founded under the leadership of Assistant Superintendent for Business Services Teresa Bishop, the Building Committee is a unique partnership through which Board members, facilities staff and administration have worked together within a standing committee to research and craft recommendations to the Board to meet the district’s facility needs throughout the past five years. During this time, District 92 has engaged in the comprehensive renovation of Walsh, Reed and Ludwig Schools to ensure that all D92 learning spaces are safe, inviting and equipped to meet the teaching and learning needs of a twenty-first century classroom.
